• Originally an old farm settlement Drnovice is located about 35 km north of Brno, about 15 km northwest of the town of Blansko in the valley at the foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. In the north protects the village from above the hill from the south and west Hvozdec wooded Bařina and Dubovice. To the east the valley opens up far into the countryside and enjoys views of the first foothills Drahanska Highlands.
• Cadastre municipality covers an area 799 ha. Flow through the two streams, drainage area, flowing from a stream Zbraslavce Lhotka, which springs in the valley Žleby. Both streams run down in Drnovice and has been progressing as a drainage area into vitriol, which empty into the river Svitavy.
