| Description: | CHVALATICEPoloha: Chvalatice village is situated at an altitude of 8 km northwest of 450m.nm Vranov on the hill above the Thaya river, which flows through the village deep wooded valley. The village is surrounded by forests and hills (Dry Mountain - 571m.nm, Silver Hill - 523m.nm, Rose Hill - 450m.nm). History: The first written mention of village Chvalatice dates back to 1498 during the reign of Vladislav II., 1574 Bítovská lords gave the right to freely dispose of their property. In 1811 the village suffered a devastating fire, which damaged much of the village along with a rectory and church of St. Cross. One of the most interesting events Chvalatice is that 1939 were occupied by the Third Reich in 1946 and only returned to Czechoslovakia. The other interesting event was that the village was never even a German village until 1945, dominated the population německé.Vycházkové route: - tourist walking route by road Lančovská, where the crossroad turn left at the end Vranov dam.
