Slavic Fortified Settlement in MikulčiceTOP DESTINATION
Slavic Fortified Settlement in Mikulčice is an Early-medieval Great Moravian Memorial that was built in the 8th and 9th century. It consists of large acropolis, outer ward and underground. It is a monument of great cultural and historical importance of Great Moravia with large valuable archaeological discoveries. There are foundation negatives of eight churches and the Princely Castle presented in the terrain. The archaeological research took place from 1954 to 1992.

Parnas Fountain
In the Middle Ages, stalls had already begun to be put up around the Parnas Fountain. It was built between 1690 and 1695 according to the design of Vienna architect Jan Bernard Fischer z Erlach. The fountain symbolizes a cave among natural rocks. Three allegorical figures represent three old empires - Babylon, Persia and Greece. Water was supplied into the fountain by means of the oldest Brno water-conduit from the river Svratka.

Like other city cemeteries, it was surrounded by a wall that prevented its later extension.
