Drásov - Povýšení sv. Kříže (Holy Cross)

Povýšení sv. Kříže (Holy Cross) Church in Drásov – The state protected cultural monument dates back to the mid 13th century. In 1932 gothic murals with Christ and Holy Virgin motifs dating back to the second half of the 14th century were discovered in the chancel of the church; they were restored in 1981. In the spire there is a bell dating back to 1512. In 1830 during the demolition of the former ossuary by the church, an ostensorium (monstrance) shrine was discovered in a recess where it had been walled-in (according to writing by chaplain J. Fetter in a book of church accounts). This most likely happened during the military advances of the Swedes during the Thirty Year’s War.
